Professional Experience

Lynda’s career in environmental science, both at home, nationally and abroad, has been long and extensive including decades with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Led three Superfund teams on the clean-up of sites contaminated with hazardous materials.

Conducted inspections, monitored enforcement and provided pollution prevention guidance.

Community Leadership

“Lynda is a leader, mentor, teacher and friend. Despite a full-time job, she worked tirelessly during lunchbreaks, evenings, and weekends, to provide environmental education to our non-profit team of students.”
– Jency James, St. Mary’s College graduate

In 1990, Lynda founded Generation Green to educate and inspire youth, local residents and stakeholders in Contra Costa County to take environmental action.

In 2007, Generation Green, under Lynda’s direction, launched the Contra Costa County Climate Leaders Program (4CL) assisting cities and counties in assessing their greenhouse gas emissions and the development of general plans, climate action plans and climate policy.

From 2004 to 2008, while working full-time, Lynda served as Town Council Member and Mayor for the Town of Moraga. In her elected capacity, she served on the East Bay League of Cities Environmental Quality Policy Committee, as a representative to St. Mary’s College and the Contra Costa County Solid Waste Authority.
